Got a song idea that refuses to leave the driveway? Spending more time deleting words than writing them? Speed Lyric Writing might be exactly what you need.
​
In this fun, one-hour workshop, we'll use a series of timed writing prompts designed to bypass overthinking and get your creative gears turning. I'll give you a single word, and you'll have three minutes—and not a second more—to write whatever comes to mind.​​
Why three minutes?
​​​
Because your Inner Editor hates deadlines. Give it too much time and it'll happily spend twenty minutes debating whether a comma belongs in line two. By limiting each exercise to three minutes, we short-circuit the Inner Editor and give the Inner Creator permission to run wild.​ The results are often surprising, hilarious, moving, and occasionally profound. (Sometimes all in the same paragraph.)

To keep things personal and interactive, this workshop is limited to five participants. That means plenty of time to share your work, hear other's interpretations, and discover the astonishing variety of ideas that can emerge from a single word.
Whether you're a songwriter, poet, novelist, painter, journal-keeper, or simply someone looking to shake loose a few creative cobwebs, this workshop will help you get unstuck
